Re: KAR - PAC2 TV deal close (older news but not sure if I saw posted here)

If they agree to join up with us it's going to include a whole host of caveats including the right for them to bail w/o a moments notice w/o fee or penalty, etc. Bank on that much. Then we just say no thanks. I agree with this. If the PAC-2 have demands, walk away and wish them well. If the PAC-2 w...

Re: Proposed Group of 5 Playoff

So all you in favor of this idea, is it because you think it's inevitable (which it might be) or because you would prefer it to how things are as of right now? There is a bit of both. I think it gives G5 conferences some power. I think there is more value in G5 football than Sankey and Tony Petitti...

Re: Proposed Group of 5 Playoff

I’m in favor. We are the new FCS. There is the SEC and Big Ten, the next tier is the Big 12 and ACC. If you don’t believe me look at Florida State. The playoff is most likely going to 14 in order to include an additional SEC and Big Ten team. The only reason the top FBS teams haven’t broken off is b...

To your point, it sure can help. We were in San Fran this week/last for 4 baseball games. San Jose, Saint Mary's, and SFU. all had fund raisers at the game. One night Jose's band was there for national anthem and the whole game. We could not believe all the young kids that were there hanging out. M...

Re: Recruits Coming In The Fall

Unfortunately, a scholarship is just the beginning in today's recruitment process. I forsee dropping down to less than 85 scholarships because of NIL shortages. You will still be able to add players with a scholarship and playing time. There will be a lot of players who enter the portal and never l...

He’s now reporting that Phelps is being “pushed out” by coach Calhoun and that he wanted to and has been committed to staying at USU since Sprinkle left, kind of a bummer if true Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk With NIL and open transfers, you have to push players out to make room for players yo...

Re: Current State of USU Basketball

I don’t feel like there needs to be a rush to fill the last few spots. The top teams are recruiting multiple players for each spot. As the top teams start to fill up, the prospects for players that didn’t commit get reduced. My guess is a lot of players who left will end up without a home. Last year...

I think the best move is for the MWC to threaten to leave them without a home until they realize that they have no leverage, then relent and let them in without special treatment. Toledo is objectively light years ahead of Bowling Green and SUU in every possible metric.
