Re: Recruiting

Great interview with Gary on DJ/PK this morning. Lots of good stuff. On of the recruiting he said they are looking to fill the final spots with the following positions: RB - "We have to find a running back that can play next year" TE - "An off the ball Tight End, like an H mover" WR DL DB He really...

Re: Bodie Reeder, the next OC

I like the hire. He seems to want to use what he has with maximum efficiency while I think his general philosophy aligns with GA. I think some offense struggles were magnified by the OC and the head coach wanting to change the offense. I think getting first downs and scoring are fun no matter how yo...

Re: 2022/23 games scheduled. UCONN, Weber, Idaho State

I love it. A very winnable game against a team that has the same name recognition as Wake Forest. We play Alabama, Iowa, and likely BYU out-of-conference these years. Props to the admin for the quick addition to the scheduling page.

The first night I spent outside of Logan after graduating was the start of a new job near Lubbock. I took a drink of tap water the first night and was glad it didn’t hit me like the water I drank in Mexico that had the same taste and texture. I spent the summer west in f Lubbock and once saw a rattl...

Re: MW has New TV deal

All of what you just said is true. As is what I said. We have some big markets, some fast growing markets, even a monopoly. Their markets are still bigger. Boise my be the fastest growing city in the US, but it's still not as big as any of the markets I mentioned(perhaps Annapolis, but that's the N...

Getting less than half what the AAC gets doesn't seem like a good deal to me. I understand the market favors eastern teams, but c'mon.
If this is an 6-8 year deal then their is the opportunity to renegotiate before the 12 year AAC deal ends. I’m paying attention to the length of the deal.

Re: MW has New TV deal

From $1.1 million to just over $3 is a healthy jump. I hope the new deal is short enough that it gives the conference another bite at the apple we while the American is locked in for twelve years. If we have a six year deal and close the gap again, that helps the conference continue to grow. Of cour...

Re: Home court advantage

I will say that having a white line rather than a dark line made some of the shots funny as players looked down at their feet to figure out if they were outside the three point line. At the spectrum the white line is the women’s three point line... adding a little bit of uncertainty early in the gam...

Re: A look ahead to next season.

I like the Wazzu series, but I also wonder if having two P5 teams, BYU, and an FCS is setting ourselves up to struggle. I like the opportunity to play some of these teams. However, I feel that having to punch above our weight for three games isn’t doing the team any favors.

Re: MW Attendance Numbers for 2019

If one really wants to face facts about USU alums in Salt Lake area, you could use the beehive classic basketball game as a example of alums that do not care about USU after leaving, of all the schools that play in it you would think out of town alums from USU would welcome a chance to watch the sc...

Re: MW Attendance Numbers for 2019

Lets face it, Logan is a pain to get to. There are 4 main ways into the valley: Highway 89 from Sardine Canyon, the road from Tremonton, Highway 89 from Preston, and Logan Canyon. Sardine Canyon absolutely sucks to drive in late October-November. There aren't a lot of people out towards Tremonton. ...

Beehive Classic Games

I just looked at the availability of tickets for the Beehive Classic. The PAC-12 team isn’t a draw. It looks like the BYU vs USU game is a much much hotter ticket, but still disappointing compared to an on campus game. You can get tickets anywhere for Utah vs Weber State including over a third of th...

Re: MW Attendance Numbers for 2019

While I agree 100% I still feel like saying "excuses excuses" - for us to be near the bottom, near SJSU level, is pathetic. Especially getting beat out by UNLV!!! I think the AD needs to understand there are people that actually look at the attendance numbers and think UNLV is a bigger draw than US...

I still think it takes three years minimum before a coach can be graded. The drop of the offense and defense looks troubling, but there are enough factors they earned the benefit of the doubt.
