Being a good 1st quarter team VS. Being a good 4th quarter team

I want to see us start better as much as the rest of you, but if nothing else, it's a little more encouraging that we're coming through in the fourth after slow starts as opposed to good starts and holding on for dear life for a couple reasons. One, it's a sign of better conditioning that if we were...

Re: More equitable scheduling idea

The schedule balances out with us getting our turn to play and miss the teams Boise has to miss and play this year. For recruiting, we need the certainty of telling kids that we WILL play in San Diego, Fresno, and Hawaii once. Not that we may depending on the standings.

It sure is a pain to plan things with these late announcements of kickoff times. When we played at LSU, I booked a flight arriving late assuming I would just go to bed and comfortably sleep in with a night game, and then pick up my car the next afternoon. Instead, cause of the morning kickoff, I had...

Re: Having the wrong starting QB

It's also interesting how once a quarterback performs at a level fully healthy, then gets hurt, the coaches automatically think just because they are medically cleared by the skin of their teeth, they are back at full strength, but it doesn't work that way, as it is possible for quarterbacks to pass...

I'm going also! Very excited! But question, I'm assuming I can walk up and just buy tickets. Or should I buy through USU? Does that matter. Sorry, that's a dumb question, I just have no idea. An NFL stadium filling up with people there to support UNLV? I don't think so. Of course tickets will be av...

Like Chuckie, Like Bonner?

We all remember when we kept playing Chuckie while he was crippled and hobbling and it was obvious he wasn't the same, but the coaches kept hoping we would get 2013 Chuckie back. It's very possible that Bonner is similarly hampered like Chuckie was. It was pointed out on the radio last night that Bo...

Missed opportunity to change the game

Despite how outmatched we were on the lines, we had the chance on that fumble if one of our guys had gotten it and ran it back for a chance to change the momentum of the game and win by a misleading final score, the way Brent Guy got the few wins he did get.

The thing is, a quarterback with a better arm would have put it to where McGriff wouldn't have had to slow down running and it would have been a touchdown.

Re: I think that it is okay to be concerned about the future of us being in the MWC

We need to poach two schools from Conference USA while we can get them with the conference being somewhat stable with 10 schools, 12 including them 2. Then if we lose Boise and/or San Diego, we are in a position to get other schools to come to join the first two we take, being in the position to tak...

Every single time we have played down there, I have been amazed at how many people have expected to get down there in the normal two hours it takes and gotten to the game late. What I personally always do is drive down in the morning when traffic is lighter so I can get there in the normal time it t...

Why Scarver still sees the field when he drops passes

One valid reason to continue playing Scarver even he drops passes is he has speed to go deep and at least make a defender go down field with him, taking the defender away from the short and middle routes. But if we are going to risk him dropping another ball and another ball, we might as well have d...

Re: Dont get discouraged, remember 2014

Add USU coming off a loss where we have several trips inside the redzone and come away empty. As well as us giving up a touchdown off a short field from a botched punt in that loss like this time. BYU coming off a win, that was closer than expected against a team from the east time zone. And in a re...

There was one year that people were posting reports of how good the team looked in ratball, then we weren't that good early in the season. So then I learned to take reports of ratball with a grain of salt. One thing that is almost non-existant in ratball is defense.

We all hated the ruling of an incomplete forward pass. And it sure was more intended to be a handoff than a pass forward. But by the letter, the ball moved forward with his arm moving forward so it was a legit ruling.
