I'd be surprised to see a significant contributor entering the portal before the bowl game.
Any big-news departure will likely come after that.

The Utah/Oregon game was on the TV in the west suite building at Maverick stadium when we were playing San Jose.
That was annoying.
More annoying was hearing someone, somewhere in the building cheering when Utah made a good play.

Re: Liberty job just opened up

Liberty wants to be the Notre Dame/BYU/SMU/etc for Evangelicals. They seem to have the money and support needed, all they need is the decades of operational improvement behind them. I have to wonder about some of the things they might teach given some of the dogmatic ideas evangelicals have about th...

Texas State is now open, and they have money to spend and want to make a big jump. Oil money everywhere. It's in Blake's home state, and San Marcos is within minutes of Austin.

Might be a move that would interest a son of Texas.

Re: Scotty and Hans Yesterday

Personally, I think much of the USU success the past two years is due to our assistant coaches more than the head coach.
Worse case scenario is we lose a bunch of the assistant coaches and Anderson can't bottle the lightning with the new hires.

I thought he was onside. any hope of the yanks beating the netherlands? Yes Netherlands love holding the ball. So much so that they are hesitant to make risky offensive plays that will create scoring chances. Preferring to keep the ball instead. So they will hold and force the US to take chances to...

Re: Streaming World cup

Great first half, substitutions were not good. Very fortunate Subs were horrible. Dest played great all game. If you HAD to sub for him, why would you play Moore ahead of Yedlin? McKennie was good today too, then Acosta comes in and was invisible. Musah plays like he just turned 20 and rarely sees ...

Re: Which unit had the better season overall, the offense or defense?

Special teams?! Nope, far too many kicks out of bounds for my vote. How many touchdown returns allowed on the kicks out of bounds? Seriously though, we converted tons of fakes and had several blocked kicks. I'm with Elk, ST was our best unit. Maybe says something about the other two units...

Go back through the board and look at the OCs the board had loved and hated and look at how those OCs have done since leaving and you'll find two things: 1. The board hates most OCs 2. Who the board hates/loves is not a great indicator of how well that OC will do away from Logan. This board sucks at...

Undefeated against England since 1776
Well... the war of 1812 would like to make an objection.
I guess it could be considered a draw since both sides just wanted to stop and no real concessions were made by either side. But I mean, England burned Washington - so that's pretty bad.

Everyone guess how many times has England beaten the US in Men’s soccer in a meaningful game (as in not a friendly)…
England has never beaten us in a meaningful game. I think we've drawn with them twice, and beaten them twice.

Re: Streaming World cup

Depends on the game. Some soccer games are boring, some exciting. Other sports can be this way too. More than I need scoring, I need two teams that are aggressive. A 0-0 game can be exciting if the teams are aggressive. In that case the lack of scoring increases the tension. If you don't understand ...

Iran beating Wales 2-0 puts USA in a tight spot.
To advance USA can't lose by more than 2 goals to England, and then they need to beat Iran.

I don't think basketball is a real sport.
I might be convinced of this. Can it be a sport when a defender is to NOT move their feet to get a foul called on the offense? Too easy to score.

So, let me get this straight, we have one bad game (albeit, the worst USU game I've ever seen) and your solution is to replace a championship winning quarterback? Experience, schmerience. Anderson went with Bonner based on last year. Bonner comes back just before the end of the fall after doing nothing but rehab, says "I'm ready" and coach sends him out. Fine. What I want is competition to decide. Bonner shouldn't have been given the starting job based on who he was last year. Every player needs to earn it, and re-earn it. The idea that a player doesn't lose their job because of injury is nonsense. Was New England supposed to bench Brady when Bledsoe said...

Both articles talk a bit about Utah State and as such the Deseret News tagged them as being Utah State stories. If you don't like the stories then you can downvote them. A couple of downvotes and they disappear.
Can we get this downvote functionality implemented for threads?

Winning coaches are bad for USU - we should lose more so our coaches are more affordable with higher buyouts that will never be exercised.

Losing is the answer and the only way to keep a coach.

Re: Xavier Williams No Longer on Roster

I’ll defer to Brian on this, em he probably knows more, but I’m assuming it has something to do with his lack of playing time. He was in the rotation getting a lot of reps in a national championship game, to have guys like KVN ahead of him here, I’m sure he wasn’t thrilled with that. His reason for...
