Re: Things are about to change

Honestly, separating sports from colleges and high schools might not be a bad thing.
Sports has become so valuable ($) that people aren't making decisions that prioritize education and the best interests of the students.

P.S. brownjeans, how many tournament games did you watch? I watched all the upsets and there wasn't one of those teams who didn't have the guard play to run it. I didn't watch that many to be honest. I've been pretty frustrated with USU's inability to throw a decent pass into the post or run a pick...

Or setting a pick and diving to the basket, receiving a high pass at the rim? Or diving and receiving a split-the-D low pass and finishing? I don't rec...

Well, I would also say this: 90% of all college scholarship athletes will never play beyond college. Outside of it being a more pleasing experience, why does it matter if the program is good or bad, if the coach is good or bad, if the team wins or loses? If a player can get their school paid for mos...

My favorite layup drill I watched was the layup drills Marquette ran before our game vs. them in Boise years ago. They had a coach with a pad hit the player as he went up for his layup.

I disagree with some folks here. Nope - I really don't see it as productive to criticize Odom in detail to defend my comments nor to present alternatives. Odom is our coach. I'm neutral on the hire for now and hopeful that he will be amazing.

This may be the wrong group to ask this, but I cannot understand why Forbes is getting time over Merrill. Sam is taller, a better defender, has a higher true shooting percentage, a higher rebound rate, and a higher assist rate.

While maybe not stinky, Odom has me feeling kind of meh. Look at his total body of work and look for other coaches with similar results and you can find a dozen coaches at small schools in small conferences with comparable or better resumes.
